i have a vw 1.9 tdi engine, origionally 105hp
The injectors and turbo have been uprated to pd150, it has a larger front mount intercooler and decat
It has been mapped but is producing torque after 3000 revs, low down 1st and 2nd gear the boost builds but does not show the equivalent power, even at 3k revs you can feel the increase in power but its not impressive
The mapper says its not the map and the power cannot be moved down the rev range, he is suggesting to alter the torsion value, currently this sits at 0.5
Before i start messing with the cam timing can the torsion value make such a difference in power delivery,
Currently it will throw black smoke when pedal pushed down hard and mpg is very bad

0.5 is ok, i wouldnt have thought it a good idea to advance or retard timing to try and compensate for lack of power low down.

have you plugged it in to vcds to check for error codes?

Have the pid maps been changed

I would say bad N75 maps.
I had a turbo upgrade that whas modded by a tuner and i had the same. No power below 2500 rpm and undrivable below 1500.

The was a lot wrong with the mapping.

Bad AFR, to rich, to much boost request sad that pro tuners can make such bad maps.
