Not happy with dyno graph (2.2 HDi)

Postby MothaHDI » Sun Sep 26, 2021 1:55 pm

Hi. So i've been tunning some HDi engine for the last years and i have always based my values by calculations and theory. Today i gave a shot a took my PUG 406 2.2 HDi to the dyno and the result was really bad.
I will leave all my work below so anyone can see and help me improve because thats my goal

The car stock has 130bhp and on the road it feels great.

I have alot of questions like:
-Why such lost of power on high RPMs? The engine is 16v btw
-Why is he making so little power? I have confirmed if the ECU is injecting the right IQ and it is. (Confirmed with diagnostic machine). +90IQ is suppose to do around 170hp (read on this forum).
-The turbo is a GT1549P VNT. So it is little. I have no information about it on the internet (no compression maps) and i dont know what pressures i should be running on high RPM's.

Rate my tune plz :)

Is that your work or a copy from another tuned file.Tuned file is full of mistakes, some changes make me think you simply copied an already tuned file.File is wrong tuned anyway.

Do not touch Axis for Smoke Map, I would not do it.

Your Torque limiter is sky rocket on low end, make it more progressive and hold on the final rpm's, you will have more power on top.

TqMoreConstant.PNG

This is how I would make the torque limiter.

I have seen a lot of modifications on your file and I do not know what are those. In your case I would modify only.
Driver wish.
Smoke map.
Iq limiters on temperature.
Atmosferic limter for turbo and not up o 2600 the whole map.
Turbo map looks fine.

I will try to make a file or show you a comparison later on with my file and show you which worked the best for me, just remember to much air will run lean and you will have backpressure on turbine, i would not touch SOI until the car starts smoking I would go with the fueling more and more until it smokes badly then I would touch SOI and some Rail so that I would burn the fuel in time and not on exhaust valve open. All this make step by step tested with small steps.

Also check your MAF i had a lot a problems with it and make sure it's reading all the air that enters the engine.

Good Luck.

Hi! Sorry for not updating. The main problem was the air filter SUPER clogged and MAF had a 100mg/stroke error. I putted new filter and runned MAFLESS. It's incredible now :D I know that there is alot to improve and all the feedback is welcome
