Hello

Hello everybody,

I'm an IT guy beginning my venture into ECUs. I'm a no BS type of guy so I don't really like "unnecessary" electronics in my cars, since I like to DIY, but it was time to put down my old mechanical diesel Mercedes, it was just too big, heavy and slow.

So I ignored my first instinct of "less wires = less pain" and followed my heart, so I got a 2009 Alfa Romeo 147 Q2 (EDC16C39 - HW 0281013533 SW- 1037386727). The way the car looks just grew on me and the engine is suppose to be pretty reliable.

When I got to the car there was an issue, the odometer was flashing but I read up on it and it could be caused by simply unplugging the battery, which matched the seller's story so I still got the car hoping for it to be an easy fix.

Now, I don't think it will be so easy... But I've got good troubleshooting skills, basic electronics knowledge, into modding 3D printers and have flashed custom (hex edited) GPU BIOS for cryptominning, so I 'm sure I can do it with the right information :D

Had a professional mechanic to checkout the error codes and all he got was a body computer error for a module the car doesn't have (may have to disable that DTC in the future).

I suspect the main issue maybe odometer mismatch between dash and ECU (that probably had a sketchy remap), cheap bluetooth OBD scanner and AlfaOBD app reported different mileage from the ECU.

I got an MPPS v18 clone with tri-core cable and reworked it, now I'm looking for DAMOS file or the reference for the mileage.

This forum seems to have a lot of useful information, hopefully I'll find what I need :)
