Sorry, I don't know that. I think as long as it gives more that 12V (and less than, let's say, 13-14V?), it must work. If the power falls below 12V you won't be able to write a file to the ECU. If it goes under 12V while you are writing, the writing process will stop and the program will give you an error.

If you succeed in getting the ECU in boot mode on the bench, please let me know, because it can be always helpful.

I'm hoping I can get it programmed on the bench, with or without boot mode.

By the way, so you didn't jumper the boot mode pin inside the ECU, but did you use boot mode to flash it in the MPPS software?

Nope, I didn't use boot mode, because I couldn't get in boot mode.

I have had the same problems.

I have tried the boot mode but only made it with MPPS. Galletto does not work in boot mode on these ECU.

Like someone said in another thread, "EDC15 are unbreakable"

MPPS can always recover it using low speed on the options directly through OBDII, no need for Boot mode.
Second option:
Desolder the memory 29F400 (there is technics in youtube to desolder these type of package), use an universal chip programmer like Willem with an adapter from psop 44 to dil (you can get it from ebay). You can read, change, record and solder it again.

I had to use the boot mode to solve it, in the end!

The correct boot mode with ecu fitted into car is like this:
1. Remove ecu cover.
2. remove dash or dash fuse (what`s easiest for you).
3. remove - battery lead
4. turn ignition on
5. put a wire (recommended with a resistor of 1-10K) between pin 24 of 400BT chip and ground
6. put - battery lead back to power
7. wait ~10 seconds
8. remove wire
9. connect galletto and read ecu data in boot mode

if you skip step 2 boot mode will fail to activate. I`ve tried about 3 hours with my car untill i`ve seen that boot mode is inactive while dash is powered on.

Some of the ECU's need more than 13 V to allow programming (well, my EDC15C2 obviously allows flashing even at 11,7 V :mrgreen: ).

The most appropriate would be a laboratory power supply. If it is not available, a radio station power supply (13,8 V) should do the job.

I've already done it with the ATX power supply! It works wonders when you need 12V :angel:

Oh, and you cannot do it with a Galletto by the way. In the end, an MPPS from a friend saved the day!

In my MPPS, when i do ECU ID it says "no information" and don't let me read ou write anything. How could i solve this problem with MPPS? How can i do boot mode in MPPS?
