De-fapping Peugeot 406 2.2HDi 4HX 2001 pre-multiplex

I have the car of which in the topic title, can someone help me defap it? I do not have the EcuSafe program to do so.

About this, what is a good way of keeping the battery charged during the remapping process?
I could either use:
another car's battery
a battery mantainer such as this
a battery charger such as this
a battery charger and mantainer such as this

I always use another car. I connect two cars together, I do the ECU read, then fans in some cars turn on, I measure the voltage, if it is risky I start another car running to be on the safe side. I never had problems.

You should use the file that comes from your own car. Gtab ECUSafe (it is available in some discussion in this forum too) and defap it manually with it, easy peasy!
