Audi A8 4.2tdi tuning

Postby Paul R » Mon Apr 29, 2013 10:06 am

Hi,

I've been doing alot of research on my Audi A8 and it has two ECU's. I've read a few horror stories about reading/writing the maps as both ECU's have to be written and this causes issues with flash tools and the ECU's being master/slave.

I understand that the best way to do a map is to read/write both ECU's with BDM. Is the same map on both ECU's or are half the maps on one ECU and the other half on the other ECU?

Apparently it can also be done with MPPS v12? How does the MPPS tool know which ECU to write to and does it actually work?

Paul.

Becareful with clone tools. The best way is a original tool (KessV2, CMD, etc).

This is expensive car so read and write the ECU's with BDM. Better safe then sorry.

The same map is on both ECU's.

what does 'clone' means?
