I think it's a nice software. I started with WinOLS 2.24 because everybody seemed to recommend that and it indeed looked very advanced. But I ended up with this free software instead because this seems to be a much more convenient choice to edit my EDC15P++ files.

I spent 30+ minutes to learn how to identify my maps in WinOLS and I still got stuck (for almost an hour) with the MAF smoke limiter map (I guess it becomes easier with practice but I am interested in tuning my own single car only, so I don't necessarily need general practice). On the other hand, this software could automatically find every maps I need.

And the user interface also looks much more friendly to me.
It has nice convenience features I couldn't see in WinOLS (may be they exist in WinOLS as well, but I didn't get that far in that software, hence the considerably more time I spent with that up until now - but this will change, I will stick with this free software).

I am not sure yet, but may be I must revoke my nice words of this software.

I tried to flash some slightly modified images to my ECU (first with both, second with a torque limiter map, third time with an EGR map modification) and the engine didn't start at all (either of the 3 runs). But flashing the original backup image always worked. (I used MPPS v12 and I tried to use the slow mode for the modified images as well).

So, I guess the problem is in the editor (as of the internal checksums, both the editor and MPPS said those are fine). Or may be MPPS (or me) forgot a tricky step which makes the ECU accept the new checksums (I don't know, disconnecting the car battery and say a magic spell while rhythmically clicking the door opening remote button, or something?).

It seems like this is indeed a fault of the VAGEDC Suit.
After I disabled the "Auto update checksum" feature in the application settings and I loaded the original file, I saw a popup about wrong checksums.
I think the original file must have correct checksums (the car works fine with that, after all, but gets immobilized when these checksums get "corrected").
Moreover, VAGEDC Suit tells me about 11 checksums in total, from which 7 are OK, 4 are FAILED, while WinOLS 2.24 identifies only 7 in total (plus a single tag which should not be corrected). So, I guess those additional 4 faulty checksums found by VAGEDC Suit aren't checksums at all!
No wonder it caused trouble when the editor randomly changed some random bites in the image file. :problem:

But going further, WinOLS finds 7 and thinks some of them are incorrect in the original dump.
MPPS and an other checksum corrector tool (a small application I just found on this forum) says I have 5 checksums at total.

So, what is the true number (7 or 5) and which tools I should use to handle them?

Hi all,

Anyone know why the www.trionics.mobixs.eu website is down?

These are the creators of VAG Suite and the tab title comes up as "Project Terminated"

Strange no?
